On behalf of Aston Martin, three Cybergroup companies worked hand in hand for and at the global automobile industry’s crowning event.Just as Wimbledon is to tennis fans and the Tour de France is to cycling enthusiasts, collectors of luxurious and extravagant cars have the Monterey Auto Week on the famous golf courses of Pebble Beach on California’s west coast. Nowhere does the world of cars shine brighter than it does against this picturesque scenery directly on the seashore on Highway No 1. The Concours d’Elegance on Pebble Beach’s closing day is an event that takes away the breath of even the most seasoned car enthusiasts: Multimillionaire car collectors, car enthusiasts and celebrities from all fields come together to celebrate globally unique cars, including pre-war classics, in a manner not seen anywhere else in the world. So for example, at an auction by RM Auctions Sotheby’s in Monterey, an Aston Martin DBR1 achieved the gigantic sum of $20.5m, making it the most expensive British car to be sold at auction to date. The first of a total of five DBR1 racing cars produced in 1956 is regarded as one of the most important Aston Martin models, and among other things it won the 1,000km at the Nürburgring in 1959.
So of course, an industry event of this importance must also include a shop featuring Aston Martin’s official merchandising collection. For this prestigious stand and the items sold there, three companies from the global Cybergroup network worked hand in hand: cyber-Wear Heidelberg GmbH, Cybergroup UK Ltd and Cybergroup US Corp. This opportunity creates unbeatable competitive advantages on each continent, as barely a competitor can even manage only similar. From short pathways from production facilities distributed over the entire world, up to care of the customer in his home country as well as at the event location on another continent, the entire repertoire of this global operation was showcased. Administration and logistics were controlled from cyber-Wear’s German sites. The British colleagues were responsible for the agreement with Aston Martin at the sports car manufacturer’s headquarters in Great Britain, as well as for preparation for and implementation of the event on site in California. Production of the articles took place in the US, under the supervision of the American colleagues, in order to avoid unnecessary transport costs and customs charges. Furthermore, Cybergroup US assumed responsibility for logistics to Monterey, and just as the British company did, supplied its own personnel for taking care of the shop during the event. The smooth running throughout the entire planning process, as well as on site, delighted the customer accordingly, and at least as much as the excellent sales that were achieved with the company’s merchandising items.
