CW shipping is carbon-neutral

For the year 2020 we offset a total of 15.36 tonnes of CO2 through carbon-neutral GoGreen products and services from Deutsche Post DHL Group. This, in turn, is invested by the group in climate protection projects worldwide.

In Germany millions of parcels are shipped every day. This number is increasing every year as online shopping continues to boom. When these parcels are transported, among other things the greenhouse gas CO2, which is harmful to the climate, is emitted. 'Carbon neutral shipping' means that the amount of greenhouse gas emitted is offset. Shipping usually costs a little more than standard shipping. Deutsche Post DHL Group uses the additional amount to invest in global climate protection projects.

 

For the year 2020 we offset a total of 15.36 tonnes of CO2 through carbon-neutral GoGreen products and services from Deutsche Post DHL Group. Of this, Deutsche Post DHL Group specifically invested in, among other things, efficient cookers in Lesotho, water filters in Guatemala, hydro and wind power in Laos and India and well rehabilitation in Eritrea.

 

"In order to offset emissions for our customers we set high standards and select projects based on their benefits to the environment and the local community. This means that the carbon-neutral GoGreen service not only offsets emissions. Together with our customers we are also helping to boost the economies of less developed countries and improve the living conditions of local people," states Deutsche Post DHL Group.
