Wow! – What a year!

2019 was exciting, trailblazing but also demanding. As we start a new year, the Cybergroup management would like to thank the cyber-Team, and also its partners and customers, for the shared journey and their loyal support. 2019 represented another milestone for the business in cyber-Wear’s 25-year history.

The business and its entire team successfully mastered a move to new headquarters in Mannheim, Germany, where the new structures quickly bedded in at impressive speed. Cybergroup was able to win new customers and retain existing customers, again experiencing growth and consolidating its market position in Germany.

Alongside the joy and euphoria at what we achieved, the management team is also aware of some ongoing projects we all need to tackle in the new year. So not only is the team continuously working on optimised processes, but also to ensure the company’s service meets customer needs as closely as possible. When it comes to procurement, supplier support and the cultivation of new contacts are unbeatable factors for success, which every member of the team has in focus. At the same time, the new site, our growing team and increasing internationalisation all present completely new demands on the complexity of automation and digitalisation. In this area, the team is working full steam ahead on the technical implementation. And last but not least, Cybergroup is focusing on the topic of sustainability, and is inspecting all processes and products in this respect.

CEO Steven Baumgärtner sees the reason for the company’s success in the market and compared to competitors in the desire not to rest, but to consistently develop and pursue the company’s objectives. 2019 was characterised by lots of new developments and lots of things that were prepared in 2018 and then finally realised and implemented with the move to the new building.

Thanks to existing customers, extensions to contracts and some heavyweight new business, revenue for cyber-Wear Heidelberg GmbH alone increased by a good six per cent. CG Fulfillment + Logistics also demonstrated impressive growth, as the still-new subsidiary company was able to double its revenue.

The individual business units are resolutely asserting themselves, becoming internally better understood and implemented, which ultimately also leads to better understanding by the customer. Commencing in 2020, Cybergroup also launches two additional business units. On the one hand the Calendars business unit, which will be assigned to CGFL, and on the other shoplutions GmbH, a provider of shopware applications, which is a joint venture between Cybergroup Holding and Agiqon.  But the existing business units too are also growing and undergoing further development. For example, the CG Fulfillment subsidiary was able to win some exciting new customers and projects, and the Design Services division also tried out some new things in 2019. The team developed concepts and launched logos for racing driver Marco Wittmann and handball player Uwe Gensheimer, among others. Also as a result of such tendentially smaller types of deal, the business was again and again able to reach new customers who would otherwise never have decided upon a ‘classic’ promotional materials dealer or full service provider.

And founding and then physically separating the holding from the core business also set the course for the future. At the same time, company structures and intra-group topics and tasks are becoming ever-more complex. This requires a sort of task force which acts for all company sections equally, as well as analysing structures, and thinking through perspectives, uncoupled from the respective business operation, in order to implement them at project level. This applies above all to digitalisation at all levels, but also to the financial structure and focus of the individual company divisions. In this area too, the business will continue to invest in order to improve yet further.

cyber-Wear’s indispensable basis is the partnership-like, family atmosphere, not just among ourselves but also with our customers and suppliers. The PSI trade fair, our unique event at the trade fair, the well-established CG Lounge Talk and of course the BeachCup all form an important element of this, bringing the cyber-Team, customers and partners together year after year. Daily interaction with our partners, along with together getting projects off the ground and solving problems, plays an enormous role in this respect.

So the company once again starts the new year with its own cyber-Lounge at the PSI trade fair. Once again, there are more customer registrations than ever before – the company is looking forward to welcoming 190 guests to the premiere of the spectacular customer event on the first day of the trade fair. As well as all its top customers, cyber-Wear will also be welcoming its top suppliers and also representatives and managers of all well-known international associations, as well as the entire PSI team and other VIP guests. The Cybergroup company continuously works on its role model function, and is proud that the sector is so enthralled by its commitment, innovative power and pace.

The world and also its people are becoming ever more restless, the economy doesn’t seem to know where it’s heading and for a long time now, old certainties have no longer held true. The world is undergoing upheaval, and everywhere is governed only by uncertainty. So all the more important that the business maintains its partnerships, discusses topics openly, treats everyone respectfully and pursues one aim – connecting people!
