Unique new anti-microbial coating for notebooks

The special anti-microbial coating of the notebooks is unique worldwide and its effect has been clinically tested and confirmed by the Fraunhofer Institute. An efficient germ reduction of up to 99.5% is possible.

In times when we are all affected by the coronavirus pandemic, it is important for us to protect ourselves and our fellow human beings as effectively and lastingly as possible. In the process, many surfaces that are constantly exposed to contact are often forgotten. These include, for example, notebooks that are used at home, in the office or while travelling, and are thus constantly exposed to germs through contact. This is now a thing of the past!

 

In cooperation with a long-standing partner we have developed a new, unique and highly effective coating for notebooks. Lock 3 is the first anti-microbial dispersion coating for the graphic industry. This invention is unique worldwide and creates highly effective anti-microbial protection for a wide variety of printed materials. Until now it has not been possible to apply a reliable coating that continuously and permanently kills germs on absorbent materials such as paper and cardboard. But this is exactly what is now possible on an effective and lasting basis.

 

Germs can be found on all kinds of surfaces and of course also on printed matter such as notebooks, and can survive there for longer than we might think. Everything that passes through different hands and is touched frequently potentially serves as a "carrier" for germs such as bacteria, viruses or fungi. These can include germs that can cause serious illness. The reason for their extended survival is the moisture and nutrients that people repeatedly transfer to the surfaces. The germs feel even more at home in secretions of human mucous membranes. Viruses, for example, remain active for up to 14 days. The longer a notebook is used, the rougher its surface becomes and the more its bacterial contamination increases. With every touch we leave tiny residues of our skin such as skin fats. Especially in the current situation we are all highly aware of the need for disinfection and hygiene, and such coated notebooks can be used for protection in almost all sectors and help to slow down the spread of viruses.

 

The effects and function of Lock 3 have been tested and confirmed by the Fraunhofer Institute! Germs are effectively reduced by up to 99.5 %. In addition, Lock 3 is absolutely harmless to health.

 

All types of surface finishing can be implemented as usual. Just like any other printing ink, Lock 3 is applied after finishing.
