The CG Lounge Talk Behind the scenes

Live is live. At the last Lounge Talk we experienced the pitfalls of the live broadcast for ourselves. However, everyone reacted quickly and professionally and the stream started again and after that went smoothly.

Live streaming is the perfect way to reach and interact with a target audience in real time. In addition it gives customers a more authentic insight than is the case with pre-produced, staged videos. The result is a more intimate and appealing atmosphere, because the viewer has the feeling of being right there. The whole thing makes the live broadcast so special and popular.

Live is live. And that's exactly how it was. At the fourth CG Lounge Talk everything relating to the technology, structure and process was very well coordinated. As before every talk there was a short "come together" at 09:00 o'clock, and the main points were run through once more. Shortly afterwards the test run followed: Wiring. Microphones on. Cameras on. Sound check. Camera test. Everything up and running. The last preparations were then made in a relaxed manner. The final briefing took place at 09:50. At 09:55 the last check on the setting. Just a few minutes to go. Two more minutes. One more minute. The live stream starts. But the picture's jerky, everything's distorted, the line is gone. Now it's time to stay calm. What's the problem? The Lounge Talk team analyses the technical problem professionally. System reboot. The setup is repeated. Within only 10 minutes the team starts the live stream once again and this time it runs smoothly as usual.

Even if everything is well coordinated, the technology can always let you down. The answer is to stay calm, show professionalism and have confidence in the team. The two MAGNA sweets interview partners Steven Baumgärtner and Mario Siebig also reacted very professionally. Without showing any disturbance they delivered a perfect live talk.

After the talk there were congratulations all round on a highly informative and entertaining live talk in spite of the initial problems. Well done!
