HAPPY EVOLUTION! Sennheiser celebrates its most successful range of microphones
Sennheiser’s most successful range of microphones celebrates its 20th anniversary. The Evolution series turned not only Sennheiser’s world upside down, but that of the music industry too. A limited edition range of merchandising was designed for the occasion of the anniversary, and sold out within hours. The family business Sennheiser, based near Hanover, is one of the world’s leading developers and manufacturers of microphones and headphones for the music and entertainment industries. Wherever people are passionately recording, transmitting or playing back sounds, Sennheiser is there.
Along the way, Sennheiser has been responsible for many technological milestones: the first shotgun microphone in the 1950s, open headphones in the 1960s, infrared transmission technology in the 1970s and multichannel wireless transmission in the 1980s. The 1990s saw the development of head-orientated surround systems, intelligent audio information systems appeared for the new millennium and today, the company continues to drive digitalisation of the audio world forwards.
And now, 2018 is characterised by the letter ’e’: This year, Evolution, Sennheiser’s most successful microphone range ever, celebrates its 20th anniversary. The Evolution series, which continues to be manufactured in Germany, has evolved into a worldwide standard for stage microphones.
Under the slogan ‘20 years of Evolution’, the Cybergroup is helping the sound experts make an even bigger noise for this anniversary, and has produced some special items based on the ‘e’ of the year. The merchandise items comprise a gym bag in an understated grey blend, as well as a hoodie and a T-shirt with anniversary print. For all three items, we opted for just such a clean and classy understated design as how the Sennheiser brand presents itself. After all, premium quality doesn’t have to be loud. The range of limited edition merchandising that was specially designed for the occasion sold out in record time.
Ever since 2003, the year the partnership with cyber-Wear was launched, Sennheiser has had the same high quality standards of its merchandising items. In 2015, for the occasion of the company’s 70th anniversary, the audio specialists’ entire range of advertising materials was revised, with black becoming the new main colour. Since then, cyber-Wear has been regularly producing new ranges of advertising materials for Sennheiser, including our own product photos, texts and typesetting.
