cyber-Wear promotes a family-friendly world of work
The "Alliance for Heidelberg Families" and cyber-Wear Heidelberg GmbH actively support a more family-friendly world of work.At the beginning of January 2019 cyber-Wear Heidelberg joined the "Alliance for Heidelberg Families", in order to promote family friendliness even further. For over 25 years the promotional goods and merchandising full-service provider Cybergroup has been THE leading provider of promotional articles, merchandising and corporate fashion, and is known in the industry for its great innovative power and creativity. With its young team the company stands for sustainable operations and social responsibility. Above all, this is characterised by modern flexibility and the compatibility of family and career. As an employer network, the "Alliance for Heidelberg Families" has been committed for many years to providing a more family-friendly working environment by means of a comprehensive portfolio of solutions.
Cybergroup now has the opportunity to use the extensive range of solutions offered by the alliance and to make them available to its employees.
The portfolio on the compatibility of family and career is wide-ranging and includes, among other things:
- services for childcare and holiday care
- support on re-entering the world of work
- an 'online babysitter exchange' and a 'tutoring platform'
- a work-oriented holiday programme for pupils aged 13 to 16
- advisory services for employees on regulations concerning parental and family leave, re-entry to a profession or the compatibility of work and family care
- training courses and workshops for employees in the HR area to acquire further qualifications in the area of family-oriented personnel policies
The two managing directors Roman Weiss and Steven Baumgärtner founded the company in their parents' cellar at the age of 17. Today they and their colleagues have families of their own - many of these colleagues have been with them since the beginning and even went to school with the two managing directors. Together with the company, the awareness of what it means to reconcile family and working life has also grown. In parallel with the further development of the company, the child-friendly and flexible attitude within the team has nevertheless made this compatibility possible.
For the majority of the staff in the cyber team their daily work takes place mainly digitally. This is an optimal starting point for flexible working hours and also working from home, a working model that the management is extremely open to and uses itself. "Whether staff sit at their desks here or at home is not decisive, the only important thing is that the work gets done. Our staff are competent, well networked with each other and support each other when the family situation sometimes disrupts the working day," says CEO Steven Baumgärtner.
On special occasions the families of staff are always welcome. An absolute highlight for the promotional products industry is the Cybergroup BeachCup, which takes place every year on the last weekend before the summer holidays. Around 40 teams from the entire industry take part in this beach volleyball tournament, with the cyber team playing with and against teams from its partner suppliers. At the same time the families always have a lot of fun on the bouncy castle, in the sand or eating ice cream.
Both at the Mannheim location and in Wipperfürth near Cologne, pupils from local schools regularly have the opportunity of work experience in various departments. Here the needs and wishes of the young people are flexibly addressed and a fixed contact person is appointed. Through cooperation with schools and vocational schools, the company continues to maintain contact with students and provides information and support during the important phase of vocational orientation.
Cybergroup is also highly socially committed and regularly donates to various organisations. There is particular focus on foundations and associations that support disadvantaged children. With its donations of money and goods Cybergroup supports the Chernobyl aid initiative in Belarus, the 'Forest Pirates', the Regine SIXT Foundation as well as individual schools and children's homes in Germany.
