Celebrating 25 Years of cyber-Wear in Style at Heidelberg Palace

cyber-Wear hosted an exclusive anniversary celebration at Heidelberg Palace. With a tour through the Palace’s old walls, a red carpet reception amidst a flurry of camera flashes, classical music and excellent food, 25 years of company history were celebrated to the fullest.

The two managing directors, Roman Weiss and Steven Baumgärtner, had something very special in store for the 25th company anniversary. 25 years, a quarter of a century, had to be celebrated in exclusive style. And what better location than Heidelberg Palace? In the 16th and 17th centuries, it was one of the most magnificent castles in Europe. “For the 20th anniversary were still looking up at the Palace from the Old Town, today we’re celebrating in the Palace”, Steven Baumgärtner rejoiced in his speech thanking the team. An incredible but true experience for the employees.

Dressed in elegant gowns and tuxedos, they entered the beautifully lit courtyard with the large Christmas tree and proceeded to the ceremonial hall. They were received with a red carpet and a flurry of camera flashes, because everyone had the honour of having their photo taken against a breathtaking backdrop with the two managing directors. Everyone who wanted to learn more about the Palace’s history was treated to a guided nighttime tour before the event. Sophia, Princess of the Palatinate, daughter of Frederick V and Elizabeth Stuart, recounted the story of her life in around 1650 and guided the guests through the Palace rooms, the balcony and onto one of the towers. First the group was instructed how to conduct themselves when passing through the courtyard. Faced with members of the peasantry, one was to bow one’s head, look at the ground and not say a word. When encountering a nobleman or noblewoman on the other hand, a slight curtsy was expected. Continuing along the moat to the old library, through several interior and exterior rooms to the outer tower, Sophie shared anecdotes about her life and life in the Palace.

Once the flurry of flashlights died down, Roman Weiss greeted the guests and wished them a wonderful, festive evening. After being treated to champagne and canapés, the guests took their seats at festively decorated tables in the banquet hall. Each guest arrived at their seats to find an enormous diamond with their name engraved on it. A murmur went through the hall. Could they keep the diamonds? “But of course, this is our thanks to you!” More diamonds, large and small, festooned the tables in exclusive style. Classical music was played to make the setting come to life, transporting everyone back in time to the days of yore.

Steven Baumgärtner thanked all his employees because, in hiswords, “it’s only thanks to you we are here today! We’re an amazing team, we help each other and always pitch in, and we should keep it that way. For all the euphoria and pride, we should also stay focused on our tasks and be aware of the example we set. This applies to both ethical and ecological issues. It means treating one another with respect not only within the company, but also in our interactions with suppliers and customers. And this includes everyone from the postman to the employee at a major corporate client. Furthermore, each and every one of us also has to re-examine, time and time again, how we use our natural resources. Where do we still have room for improvement, where can we avoid waste and where can we be pioneers and role models for others? Let us be more mindful of each other and our environment. Last but not least – let’s talk, discuss and decide together. Because only together are we strong and only together will we lead this great company into the next 25 years and continue to be a role model and inspiration for so many people out there. We’d like to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your untiring commitment and your determination to succeed – you’re awesome!

As a tribute to the two founders, three of cyber-Wear’s long-time employees took a trip down memory lane, revisiting the past 25 years of the company’s history. From the foundation of the company in 1994 in the parents’ basement, the first employees, the first orders, historical and political events to the move into the big new headquarters this year. “The world and its events are constantly changing – we have witnessed both positive and negative events. But overall, the company’s history has been a positive one thus far and that’s exactly where we want to continue, and we look forward to the rest of evening and, most of all, the coming years with all of you!” The two managing directors were presented with a large photo book including pictures from the past, memories of many beautiful moments, the first offices, creative ideas and the first products. The employees also added their personal thanks and congratulations to the book.
