What moves the industry? Live from the PSI TV studio

Fully booked time slots, 27 discussion partners from the entire scope of industry, and a variety of topics ranging from the trade fair and product innovations, to the future of the promotional products industry. Once again this year, the leading trade fair for the promotional products industry was accompanied live by talks from the PSI TV studio.

And it was already clear at the end of last year: all PSI TV slots spanning the three days of PSI were fully booked! And all this despite the fact that additional dates had already been set up due to the high demand over the course of the year.

 

In January 2023, PSI set up the PSI TV Studio for the first time and cyber-Wear CEO, Steven Baumgaertner, hosted 27 talks with trade fair exhibitors and partner suppliers. The TV studio doesn't just offer peace and quiet, a pleasant atmosphere and various backdrops. There was also the highly professional technology, provided by PSI in cooperation with cyber-Wear.

 

We had first-class technical resources at our disposal for the smooth implementation of the video streaming on Vimeo and the high-quality recording of the presentations. For the sound technology, we relied on the outstanding MIDAS-M32r Live system in combination with the Sennheiser IEM lavalier microphones. In terms of video, we relied on the high-performance Panasonic cameras from the AW-UE series, consisting of two pan and tilt models and a fixed AG-CX 4K camera. The Dji Ronin 4D-8K Pro proved to be the ideal companion for mobile recording work on the exhibition grounds, relying on the proven sound technology from Sennheiser. The ATEM Mini Pro+ was used to ensure smooth live streaming and recording. Professional lighting was provided by six individually controllable studio ceiling lights and two adjustable spotlights, in order to ensure an optimal visual presentation.

 

The format was able to be followed live via stream for the entire duration of the trade fair. There was only a 15-minute break between each of the half-hour talks to make the most of the time available – the cyber Team really went full throttle here! Skills shortages, political uncertainties, digital and logistical challenges – the topics were diverse and went far beyond the product innovations and current directions of the participating companies.

 

All the discussion partners agreed on the indispensable importance of PSI for the industry. And after the coronavirus-related slump that affected all external appointments and events, there was a clear upturn not only in the trade fair but also in the promotional products business. All of the interviewees were extremely satisfied with the frequency from the very first day of the trade fair, which PSI used to kick off the new business year. The available places are highly coveted and, like the PSI Talk, were fully booked once more this year.

 

For more than 60 years, PSI – the leading trade fair for the promotional products industry – has been the sourcing platform for innovative products and services. It gives the industry a voice in politics, and offers space for topics and dialog at eye level. The focus: the procurement of new and suitable promotional products, sustainability, new technologies and the networking of all stakeholders. It's no coincidence that PSI is known as the leading European trade fair for the promotional products industry, and is the meeting place for the industry – right at the start of the new business year in Düsseldorf.
