"Felix" the baby ambulance
For over 2 years now, cyber-Wear has been sponsoring Felix the baby ambulance, whose job it is to make sure that babies born prematurely can be taken safely to special hospitals to get the help they need.Until 1975, the Federal Republic of Germany had the highest rate of infant mortaility of all the western industrialised nations. This was due to the common practice of separating maternity hospitals from paediatric clinics. It was for this reason that the foundation known as the Björn Steiger Stiftung developed the baby ambulance with its buillt-in itransport ncubator back in 1974. In its very first year of operation, the infant mortality rate in Stuttgart fell by a massive 70%. In total, the foundation has financed 14 emergency ambulances for babies.
Since premature babies should ideally not be moved at all, a mode of transport that offers a smooth and shock-free ride can make the difference between life and death. It was for this reason that a special intensive care station was developed with a specialised vibration damping system to compensate for potholes of up to 10 cm. This allows newborn babies to be transported as if wrapped in cotton wool.
cyber-Wear particularly wanted to carry on supporting this project, so close to the company's heart, during the pandemic to ensure that Felix the baby ambulance would be able to continue on a sound financial footing in the long term, even during this difficult time. In this way, cyber-Wear is offering ongoing support in the form of a partnership for the provision of emergency medical aid for premature babies Meaning that those who most need protection will also be able to get it. We're proud to be part of this project!
