cyber-Wear once again sponsors the "Felix" emergency ambulance for babies

In the year 2021 too, cyber-Wear will once more be sponsoring the Björn Steiger Foundation’s "Felix" project

The number of premature births in Germany is rising. As far as possible premature babies should not be transported at all. However, many of them can't be adequately cared for at their place of birth and have to be transferred to a special clinic. This usually happens in normal ambulances which don't have special suspension, and the babies are usually even carried longitudinally to the direction of travel. This is particularly dangerous for the little ones, as it exposes them to dangerous braking acceleration. In the "Felix" baby ambulance they are transported laterally, which is the safest way for them.

It ensures that the newborn babies are not only transported safely but also comfortably - because in the special baby ambulance the little ones are transported as if on clouds. To compensate for any vibrations, bumps and potholes the Björn Steiger Foundation has developed a shock absorbing system that puts the baby in a kind of floating condition. Potholes of up to 10 cm in depth can be absorbed in this way!

The "Felix" crew is always prepared for emergencies. Special paediatricians and care personnel regularly take part in training courses and train in practical emergency situations. The drivers of the vehicles also undergo continual training with a special mobile driving simulator, not just to increase safety for the baby, but also for the whole crew.

Until 1974 the Federal Republic of Germany had the highest infant death rate of all industrial nations. The reason: maternity hospitals were separate from children’s hospitals – something which still happens today. Problematic transport without emergency medical care often leads to long-term complications or even death. For this reason the Björn Steiger Foundation financed the first emergency ambulances for babies, with integrated transport incubators. In total 14 emergency ambulances for babies have already been financed.

"Our objective is to improve emergency care and save human lives". For this reason the foundation provides the "Felix" emergency ambulance to locations that have a particularly high rate of infant transport and wish to make use of it. cyber-Wear identifies strongly with the aims of the foundation and is committed to supporting its operations. We are fully behind the "Felix" baby ambulance project, which is why we are extending our sponsorship of the Björn Steiger Foundation for a further year.
