SUSTAINABI L I TY REPORT | ISSUE 01 / 22 factors. After evaluating alls aspects, the main focus in the future is clear. It will be about our use of resources (material, electricity, gas), transport and treatment of waste with together 40% share in the overall influence of environmental aspects on the company's actions. Continuous audits will help us to develop further result-oriented action plans to ensure a continuous improvement process. WASTE PREVENTION AND DISPOSAL Increasing our material efficiency is a must, the key to this is that we recycle and re-use our old cardboard as much as possible. We were already 50% successful in this practices in 2019. On the subject of plastics we are steadily reducing our levels of waste achieving a reduction of 18% between 2018 and 2020. In 2021 we will introduce the use of FSC certified cardboard from sustainably managed forests. By registering with FSC, we can also advertise the use of “good wood” messaging and we are increasingly promoting the use of FSC products, especially in packaging. PAPER In the digital world in which we live it is questionable if there is ever a need to produce hard copy paper printouts. Our motto is clear - please think before you print! We also have all printers defaulted to print double-sided and in black and white. In addition we have only been using FSC certified paper for several years. E-MOBILITY It’s no secret, electric cars reduce emissions. As such Cybergroup are gradually converting our fleet of company vehicles to electric. The electricity should be obtained from renewable energy sources, preferably with the energy from the own solar photovoltaic system. To support these changes and all for charging at work we have installed 4 new charging stations. These are located directly in front of the building and allow us to charge to 4 cars with up to 22 kWh at the same time. Meanwhile, 50% of the fleet has already been converted to all-electric cars (66%) and hybrid cars (33%). SUSTAINABILITY AND INNOVATION As a full-service provider, we must of course check product sustainability when developing new, innovative products. We have launched a new database across the business in which all of key account partners can supply details of their latest sustainable products. This database is continuously updated by the purchasing department. We review and detail various criteria that we define as the product's life cycle. We don’t just consider the certification that a product carries, but we also review the packaging, the longevity, the emissions and the origin of the product are considered in terms of the distance travelled on the route to market.
