Something completely different - the catalogue of »The Paris Club Art Experience« exhibition

Paris and art made up the main theme of both our participation in PSI 2020 and our exclusive evening event. In keeping with the theme, my design team and I have showcased the 42 individual works of art from all over Europe in an elegant, large-format catalogue.

During the PSI fair our team invited guests to an exclusive, eye-catching art exhibition in the Paris Club on the 17th floor of the 25hours Hotel with its spectacular view over Düsseldorf. More than 40 works of art designed by the partner suppliers, a total of 180 guests consisting of colleagues, friends and business partners, excellent catering and an exuberant atmosphere made the evening an unforgettable one for all participants. In line with the slogan "Good art does good" all the artworks are being auctioned off at www.parisclub.auction, and the resulting proceeds will be donated to one of our long-standing social initiatives - the Heidelberg Project in Detroit.

The aim of the event was to present the industry in a new light and to show with what passion, attention to detail and quality standards our work is carried out every day. Together with our top partners we created works of art that reflect exactly that: quality, innovation and attention to detail. No matter whether it was sculpture, paintings or digital works - on that evening art took centre stage.

An essential part of every good art exhibition is a high-quality catalogue which stages the submitted works of art in a lavish way. It presents the artists, the idea and the concept in words and pictures. For the photos of the works, which make an artistic impression in themselves, we engaged the Cologne photographer Monika Nonnenmacher, who has among other things already staged our new HQ in Mannheim. In addition to portraits, especially in the working environment, the freelance photographer specialises in portraying architecture and industry. In an age when we are flooded by digital images, she creates highlights with additional analogue shots.

In an all-day marathon and with a team of four colleagues - including the photographer and our CEO Steven Baumgärtner - all the works of art were set up in the specially cleared Wipperfürth warehouse and appropriately staged. This not only resulted in photographs showing the entire artwork, but also impressive still lifes of selected details. From these my team and I not only created the large-format catalogue for the suppliers and customers who visited the event, but also elegant, framed gallery prints of the various black and white analogue photographs.

As Head of Design I was, along with Monika Nonnenmacher, responsible for the creation of the catalogue as well as all the accompanying graphics, signage, posters and websites. Last but not least, with the support of three colleagues I installed all the artworks in the Paris Club of the 25hours Hotel. In view of the fantastic feedback we have received the effort and expense were well worth it and we had once again created something completely different - in line with our aspirations!
